Michigan’s Native American Lawyer
From the day that we opened our door, Schinkai Law has been Michigan’s premier law firm for Native American legal issues. Whether you are a Native American who needs assistance in State or Tribal Court, or a non-Native, who needs legal help in one of our state’s 12 tribal courts, we are here to assist you. Contact us if you need assistance!
Peter Schinkai’s entire law career has been in Native American law, serving Indian Country in a variety of ways. He started his career as an intern at Michigan Indian Legal Services, before moving on to work as an attorney for Rosette, LLP, for several years. While at Rosette, he specialized in working with Native American communities across the country, assisting with administrative, business, education, and healthcare issues. He has also served on multiple Native American-focused sections and committees representing Native American issues with the State Bar of Michigan.
Today, over half of Schinkai Law’s practice relates in some way to Indian Country. Our firm works with Native Americans in a variety of ways. We represent them with car crashes, dog bites, worker’s compensation issues, and a variety of other issues in both state and tribal court. Although Peter Schinkai is non-native, his unique background allows us to understand and serve our Native American clients in ways other law firms simply cannot.
Additionally, Schinkai Law is one of the state’s premier law firms when it comes to working with tribal governments and tribal courts. We represent people in administrative law procedures (for example enrollment or disenrollment proceedings) and in the tribal courts for both personal injury and criminal defense matters. Our firm has represented clients with workers compensation claims, slip-and-falls in tribal casinos, and in criminal assault cases.
If you need help navigating an issue in Tribal Court, or if you are a Native American who has suffered a personal injury, contact us today and see how Schinkai Law can assist you with your legal matters.
